Christopher Woelk (PhD), also known as Topher, has over 20 years senior leadership experience in research and development across large pharma (Merck), biotech start-ups (Verge Genomics, Cellarity), academia (UCSD, University of Southampton) and hospital systems (VA San Diego Healthcare, University Hospital Southampton).  Topher received a PhD from the University of Oxford in computational virology and an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Genetics from the University of Nottingham. His research brings to bear powerful techniques associated with machine learning and multi-omics on target identification, drug development, biomarker discovery and reverse translation in clinical studies. Topher has also worked on across multiple therapeutic areas such as Immunology, Oncology, Neurology, and Respiratory & Infectious diseases.  His passion is to contribute to developing a drug that improves patient lives and to build platforms to get the right medicine to the right patient at the right time.
