Polygon Health is dedicated to connecting people with their health data and turning it into an asset. We accomplish this by providing a marketplace where consumers (sellers) can sell their health data directly to researchers (buyers). We also provide the tools necessary to to make that easy and safe to do.
What is the problem?
Researchers in the real world data (RWD) industry are always looking for new data sources because of the difficulty in finding the exact data they need. These gaps include data linkages, customized data, PHI protected data, overseas data, etc. Challenges exist for consumers as well as they are not positioned to unlock the full benefits of their data. For example, patients generally do not benefit financially from their own data. Polygon Health aims to solve both problems by matching consumers (patients) with researchers to engage in a health data discussion.
What is their solution?
Unlike other solutions, Polygon Health is a direct-to-patient marketplace. For example, current solutions are like taxis, acting as centralized services , while Polygon Health is like Lyft, acting as a transactional platform. This means we are not a data aggregator, but a platform to match patients with researchers. By enabling patients to directly consent and drive their decision to utilize their data, many barriers in the RWD industry are lowered. Some of these barriers involve transactions of data protected by HIPAA, overseas data protected by GDPR, combining unique and customized data sources (surveys + EMR + wearables, etc.), and direct communication between researchers and patients.
