Hebbian Bio is providing a first-of its kind precision platform for drug target and biomarker discovery for neuro conditions, combining advanced stem cell modeling of human brain circuits, spatial proteomics, and machine learning. Our goal is to eliminate the often decade-long agony of misdiagnosis and lack of treatment options for patients that suffer from neurodevelopmental / neuropsychiatric symptoms, with a unique precision approach for complex disorders.

What is the problem?

Most human brain disorders, including autism, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression, have complex genetics and variable symptom presentation. Current drug development efforts are limited by the lack of 1) adequate models of human neurobiology and 2) approaches that reduce this biological complexity to enable faster target discovery without decades of preclinical work to understand disease mechanisms and pathways. It simply takes too long to find new targets and biomarkers and most drugs fail in clinical trials as human neurobiology is different to the traditionally used model systems (such as the mouse). Neuroscience is an emerging therapeutic area of high unmet need, with most patients (estimated by the WHO to collectively reach 1B worldwide by 2030) lacking adequate treatment options.

What is their solution?

Hebbian Bio's solution is a precision platform technology that starts with proprietary human models of neurobiology that recapitulate key aspects of disease. The platform radically reduces biological complexity and re-stratifies patients in an entirely new way based on a unique biological insight and a novel machine learning (ML) approach to enable target/biomarker discovery and companion diagnostics for better clinical trial design. We envision that our solution will accelerate drug development for complex neuro diseases and bypass genetics.
